The Cornel School of Contemporary Music
Live Performance Scholarship

The Cornel School of Contemporary Music Live Performance Scholarship fund offers talented, dedicated students, a rare opportunity to receive a world-class contemporary music education at Shepherd University. At CSCM, students work alongside music industry professionals and top educators to learn and achieve their potential for success. The fund provides financial support to exceptional students so they can focus their full attention on their education, and creative growth.

CSCM offers 15 Live Performance Scholarship awards for students entering the Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree programs in the Fall 2014 semester. These awards are assigned specifically to performance majors in the areas of piano/keyboard, guitar, bass, drums and vocal. Three scholarships are offered in each of the five performance categories, and awarded to performers who display an exceptional level of musical achievement.

All Live Performance Scholarships are awarded on a continuing basis covering a percentage of tuition costs each year until graduation. The percentage amount of the awards – up to 100% of tuition costs – are determined by the music department scholarship committee, and based on audition performance. Students under scholarship must maintain full-time enrollment, and high academic standards.

The number of final candidates that perform for the judges is limited. Performing candidates are selected based on an online application audition. Please submit one online video of your work, and a scholarship application before the April 18th deadline. Notifications will be made on April 25, 2014, of the final performing candidates.
